On his own volition of seeking to promote the welfare of others, multiple award-winning Ghanaian Actor, Politician and Entrepreneur John Dumelo has recommenced his public-spirited activities after losing his bid to become the Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso West-Wuogon constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the recent December 2020 general elections.
Before his defeat to incumbent MP, Madam Lydia Alhassan, John Dumelo secured over 4, 000 laptops some of which were given out to numerous needy tertiary students in his constituency during his campaign tour. Many commended him for his charitable move whilst others believed the gesture was a ploy to canvass for votes.
Though he was defeated but Dumelo has proven his critics wrong as he resumes his generosity to the brilliant but needy students exercise, exactly a month after the elections. On Tuesday, January 12, 2021, he donated a new HP laptop to John Yao who is a student at the University of Ghana Medical School in Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra.
He made this known via his official Twitter handle.
Donated a laptop to John Yao Avu of the Ghana Medical School in Korle-Bu today. This is to aid him in his studies. Thanks @MacJordaN for sharing Yao’s story. Together let’s make Ghana a better place. #istilldey4u pic.twitter.com/pEKbDut0Qq
